work

the energy in the office hangs like a sticky fly curtain

trapped by wooden fire doors infused with the scent of pressure

leaving work is like shrugging off a heavy coat

I love the imagery you share in your writing, it is almost tangible in feel and I can visualize what this must be like.

Thanks for the your comment - I'm glad you like my writing.

My office certainly does not have a good energy about it!

Luckily your writing provides an escape from the pressure of your employment. Your word analogies ring true. I'm tempted to say: Quit the job!

@ Barb, thanks. I'm looking for a new job! Having looked at your blog, it looks amazing where you live, you are very lucky. Your writing is lovely as well.

You capture life "at the office" so succinctly in this piece. I feel the same way when I leave work for the day: "leaving work is like shrugging off a heavy coat." Just reading your take on this, makes me feel lighter. Thank you :-)
