stone #2

the japanese maple casts filigree shadows
from its crimson leaves. as the wind sprays them,
they tremble, intoxicated with grace.

a tiny spider hangs between the leaves,
embroidering his own intricate shadows,
heavy with the burden of waiting.

Great choice of words. Though the first stanza is more descriptive and brings mind pictures, the second stanza brings mood and feeling. Poor little spider!
