Tiny Blue Flowers

Tiny blue flowers
ablaze in a tree -
prayer flags for birds
who sing daily,
their rituals familiar
to the trees
that hold them dear
- in the wind, in the rain -
in return for their songs.

Tiny blue flowers
blossom every year
and hang brightly
love letters for butterflies,
who shiver in surprise
to find such treasure
under a hot sky,
so they dance
and they dance.
