stone #8

white goose by the pond
neck stretched, yellow beak lifted up,
watching rooks overhead -
scattering like torn paper.

I love this small stone. What a strong image it creates in the mind's eye.

I, too love the images...the rooks as torn paper is beautiful...and seen from the viewpoint of the white goose.

The scattering of rooks - never fails to inspire a search for the right words to describe and I like tht you use colir too.

Thanks everyone. The goose in question sees himself as the Great Leader of the pond, and is accompanied by his goose wife and their little goose son at all times. He is a great character but extremely persistent when it comes to acquiring breadcrumbs!
