stone #9

there are sheep dotted evenly over the field,
like bobbles on an old fisherman's smock.

a low sun briefly emerges, casting them honeyed bronze,
then they fade to the cusp of monochrome,
shades of white and grey.

they continue to munch vigorously, determinedly,
not looking up, not needing to wonder.

Oh, this is great! Love your changing visuals while the sheep continue doing what they do.

Always like to read about sheep.

Wonderful, - sheep in the pasture and the low evening light illuminating them. They are such placid creatures to contemplate, but I can remember that they also have a stubborn streak...

Thank you all for your comments. Sheep always make good subject matter!
